PEOPLE Committee Meetings



Local standing committee lead by the Vice President/PEOPLE chair. PEOPLE is our legislative pact that stands for Public Employees Organized to Promote Legislative Equality.
The committee meetings are open to all dues paying members. Please contact the local to be added to the invite list.



AFSMCE Local 2600 is doing our part to support the community we serve. We are hosting a food drive from November 14th until December 5th. Our goal is to collect at least 500 pounds of food! We will collect food in our office as well as 5th Street Gem. Donations will also be collected by certified stewards and MAT leaders of our local. Please considering donating and volunteering.


Please also support local or employee-owned grocery stores like Hy-Vee and Humphry's Market. Additionally, please support our local unionized grocery store Schnuck's (On Sangamon and Montvale)!

Networking event for members and community supporters



AFSCME AFTER 5 IS A LOCAL 2600 MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT SERIES THAT ALLOWS FOR NETWORKING AND ACTIVE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT. PARTICIPANTS ARE SOMETIMES ASKED TO BRING DONATIONS FOR LOCAL MEMBERS AND COMMUNITIES IN NEED.
